By 4:00, the eye had crossed the Sound\u00a0and made\u00a0a second landfall just east of New Haven, Connecticut.\u00a0\u00a0 Current\u00a0analyses have labeled\u00a0the hurricane\u00a0at Category 3 intensity at both landfalls and place the maximum sustained winds in the 120\u2013125 m.p.h. range. After crossing Long Island Sound, the hurricane sped inland.
