This publication moves beyond this artifical divide, providing <\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;font-family:Consolas\">the first ever comparative analysis of historical slave systems and <\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;font-family:Consolas\">modern forms of human bondage. From this standpoint, recent concerns <\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;font-family:Consolas\">over human trafficking, debt-bondage, child labor and other related <\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;font-family:Consolas\">problems are analyzed in view of the historical strengths and weaknesses <\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;font-family:Consolas\">of the legal abolition of slavery.
