The aim of this conference is to train students in strategies that will allow them to overcome typical barriers to progress and become more effective activists, regardless of cause. Our hope is to give you, the student, the confidence and knowledge needed to create change within the societal issues you feel most passionate about.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The conference will take place in the Dodd Center Saturday, February 23rd from 10am-6pm. For more information or to register stop by the Human Rights Institute or e-mail <a href=\"mailto:Idealists.united@gmail.com\" title=\"mailto:Idealists.united@gmail.com\">Idealists.united@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\" face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><\/span><\/font><font size=\"2\" color=\"#000080\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size:10pt;color:navy;font-family:Arial\"><font size=\"2\">The conference will contain a keynote speaker, 3 sets of workshops, a peer-networking lunch, and a closing activity.<\/font><\/span><\/font><font size=\"2\" color=\"#000080\" face=\"Arial\"><span style=\"font-size:10pt;color:navy;font-family:Arial\"><font size=\"2\">The workshops are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Set 1:<br \/>\nLeading a Successful Meeting<br \/>\nTalking with Your Peers about Controversial Issues<br \/>\nGrassroots media<\/p>\n<p>Set 2:<br \/>\nEffectively Lobbying Politicians<br \/>\nGetting the Media to Listen<br \/>\nCoalition Building<\/p>\n<p>Set 3:<br \/>\nRunning Successful Promotional Events<br \/>\nLeading a Direct Action Campaign<br \/>\nCreating a Social Movement<\/p>\n<p>Conference registration will end on February 14th at 11:00pm.
