{"id":1060,"date":"2017-12-05T00:17:12","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T00:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/news\/?p=1060"},"modified":"2017-12-05T00:17:12","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T00:17:12","slug":"library-welcomes-new-dean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/news\/library-welcomes-new-dean\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Welcomes New Dean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1061\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/news\/files\/Anne-Langley-Photo-e1512432907119.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"219\" \/>We are pleased to announce that Anne Langley, currently Associate Dean for Research, Collections, and Scholarly Communications at Penn State University Libraries, has accepted the position of Dean of the UConn Library.\u00a0Anne will begin her term as Dean on February 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Anne holds a master\u2019s degree in library science from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor\u2019s degree in creative writing from Georgia State University. With more than 24 years of professional library experience, Anne has overseen the collections budget, nine subject libraries, acquisitions and collection development, special collections and archives, and scholarly communication at Penn State since 2015. Previously she served as the Director of Scholarly Communication and Head Librarian of the Science and Technology Libraries at Princeton University. She has also worked at Duke University and North Carolina State University, and she began her career at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
