What is this blog for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This blog is to share what you have learned at a conference, to begin or continue a conversation on a topic here at UConn, and to either recommend or not recommend colleagues attend the conference in the future.<\/p>\n

Who contributes to this blog?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Any library staff member who attends a professional workshop, conference, webinar, or training as a representative of the UConn Libraries.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Funds for travelling to professional development opportunities are not bountiful. By sharing the knowledge you gained at or during the event, you will be contributing to the growth and development of your colleagues in the entire library. \u00a0Brown Bags are great but difficult to schedule and usually limited to the campus members who are available at that moment in time. These blog posts are be available to all library staff at all campuses at their own convenience.<\/p>\n

What should I post?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is totally your own decision. If you go to a multi-day event, you may wish to share the most worthwhile portions, perhaps a few choice links shared by the presenter(s), the most memorable takeaways for you. The posts are not any prescribed length, the style is conversational and friendly but concise. You may want to include notes on imaginative presentation techniques, small group activities that worked well, and choice photos or images from the event.<\/p>\n

Who can see this blog?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is an in-house blog for all library staff and is not searchable through Internet Search Engines. Staff log in using their library credentials (the ones used to login to your computer). Please bookmark the site or subscribe to the blog to receive notifications when new posts are entered.<\/p>\n

When should I post to this blog?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sooner you post, the clearer your memory of the event. Try to share your thoughts and experiences within a week of returning to the library. Even if other colleagues attended, your take will be different and valuable.<\/p>\n
