The best laid plans\u2026..<\/p>\n
So, as you are aware from our weekly \u201cchats\u201d, things progressed in our summer flooring renovation much slower than originally anticipated.\u00a0 As a result, they are still with us.\u00a0 We are working with them on parameters that are different now to try and balance the need to keep them moving on the project, but not disrupt the usage of the building during the busy semester.\u00a0 We realize that there are still inconveniences, but the tradeoff is that we will get through this project.\u00a0 \u00a0So where are we now?<\/p>\n
Levels 2 & 3 Lobbies<\/b> \u2013 they have been completed.\u00a0 (Terry, we reminded them yesterday of the thresholds for your doorways, hopefully they will be on that today if not done already)<\/p>\n
Administrative Offices<\/b> \u2013 the scheduled completion is today.\u00a0 We will be on target to start moving back in on Tuesday & Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Levels 1 & 2 Bathrooms<\/b> \u2013 If they are not yet, they will be open today.\u00a0 The final piece was getting the toilet paper holders on and that was being done yesterday afternoon when I left.<\/p>\n
Elevators<\/b> \u2013 the flooring is done and the elevators are back in service.\u00a0 They still need to apply the base but I\u2019m sure you will agree they look great!<\/p>\n
What\u2019s next:<\/p>\n
Basement Bathrooms<\/b> \u2013 They will be demo\u2019ing those starting next week.\u00a0 Yes, that will mean noise but there isn\u2019t much of an option around this other than a bit of patience.\u00a0 They will also be working on the Director\u2019s Office bathroom.<\/p>\n
Class of \u201947<\/b> \u2013 They will start carpeting in there on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Those areas are the last of the main areas that they will be working on until December break.\u00a0 They have a lengthy punch list of items that need working on that we will continue to push for work on throughout the semester but it should not close down any major spaces.\u00a0 December break will see the main stairway, Husky Tech office (this was missed), and the entrance mats for both the South and the West entrances.<\/p>\n
