{"id":368,"date":"2014-02-11T21:16:58","date_gmt":"2014-02-12T02:16:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/staffnews\/?p=368"},"modified":"2014-02-11T21:20:10","modified_gmt":"2014-02-12T02:20:10","slug":"updated-charge-for-the-library-help-service-task-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/staffnews\/2014\/02\/11\/updated-charge-for-the-library-help-service-task-force\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated Charge for the Library Help Service Task Force"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The task force to review and propose changes to our help services has been amended based on feedback from staff. \u00a0The new charge is as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Library Help Service Task Force<\/p>\n<p><i>Charge<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Library Help task force is charged to examine and document \u201chelp\u201d service models in all forms as they currently exist within the Libraries.\u00a0 The task force will gather data from library units that provide assistance \u00a0\u2013 whether internally to library staff, or externally to library patrons \u2013 to better understand the current state of help service practices, including current access points, the nature of questions, and factors that facilitate or hamper providing help within the libraries.<\/p>\n<p>Providing assistance to library users and staff in a seamless and transparent way is critical to the library\u2019s viability and is central to the library\u2019s mission.\u00a0\u00a0 The proposed task force will document our current models to provide data for future discussion on creating a sustainable, comprehensive library service model.<\/p>\n<p>The task force will prepare documentation on the current state of library help services for the Vice Provost\u2019s Council by March 14, 2014<\/p>\n<p><i>Task Force Members<\/i>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kate Fuller will serve as task force leader (UE)<\/li>\n<li>Representatives from CRI, ITS, RCL, ILL, and LRS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Joel Atkinson\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (CRI)<br \/>\nNancy Dryden\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (RCL)<br \/>\nAlice Fairfield\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (LRS &#8211;
