{"id":1709,"date":"2012-01-20T12:36:18","date_gmt":"2012-01-20T17:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uconnstamfordlibrary.wordpress.com\/?p=1709"},"modified":"2012-01-20T12:36:18","modified_gmt":"2012-01-20T17:36:18","slug":"new-library-search-tool-launched-summon-beta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.uconn.edu\/stamford\/2012\/01\/20\/new-library-search-tool-launched-summon-beta\/","title":{"rendered":"New Library Search Tool  Launched~ Summon (Beta)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Find Everything in the Libraries\u2019 Collections with One Search<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Libraries have introduced a new search tool that will enable users to do just one search to find the resources they need.<\/p>\n<p>Functioning as a library catalog, a journal locator, a database locator, and a large full-text article database, the new search tool enables users to enter terms into a web-like search box to obtain licensed content from the Libraries\u2019 entire collection.\u00a0\u00a0 The technology behind the new search tool is called \u201cSummon\u2122,\u201d and is provided by Serials Solutions\u00ae, a business unit of ProQuest\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>To use the new all-encompassing search tool, labeled <strong><span style=\"color:#000000\"><a title=\"Library Homepage\" href=\"http:\/\/lib.uconn.edu\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cEverything @ UConn,\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/strong> just insert a topic of interest.\u00a0\u00a0 Users may then refine their search and specify parameters such as content type, subject, or date.
