Thefilm explores the love that develops between childhood friends, Lolita (Vidya Balan) and Shekhar (Saif Ali Khan). Lolita is an orphan who is raised in her uncle\u2019s family. Shekhar\u2019s father, Nabin Roy, a dishonest businessman, plots to take control of Lolita\u2019s ancestral house for commercial purposes. Another man, Girin (Sanjay Dutt), steps in to rescue Lolita\u2019s family from being evicted and earns their gratitude.
