Forum on UCONN Institutional Repository

INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORY COMES TO UCONN:
A Library Forum
March 22, 2005, 10:00-12:00
Konover Auditorium, Dodd Research Center
Speakers: Greg Tananbaum, President of Berkeley Electronic Press; Jonathan Nabe, head of the University Libraries pilot institutional repository for the University of Connecticut

Institutional repositories are web-based collections of digital items which showcase the writing, research and other intellectual output of a university community, potentially
including journal articles and research reports, monographs, working papers, dissertations, honors theses, data sets, and sound and video files. The UConn Libraries are embarking on a pilot project to implement an institutional repository for
the University of Connecticut, known as Digital Commons@University of Connecticut.

All are invited to the Library Forum as we discuss:

How can an institutional repository benefit you as a contributor and as a researcher?
What will it look like and how does it work? How will it be organized and who will manage it? Who will have access?

Please join us as speakers Tananbaum and Nabe discuss these and other topics regarding institutional repositories in general and the University of Connecticut Repository in
particular. Your questions and comments will be welcome.

Light refreshments will start off the program.
