Most Used Databases

Today we gave some basic instruction to students in HDFS 225 and EN 104 on how to find articles for their research assignment.

In the end I hope students know they should go to the Library’s homepage at
Library Home Page and click “Most Used Databases” on the far left to get to the most used databases that house full-text journal articles. The library has subscriptions to over 240 databases but the link for “All Databases” will get them to the whole list of library database.

Problem Printing from WebCT?

Students, if you are having problems printing the pdf documents/assignments from WebCT from our SuperHomer computers, try saving your document to the computers desktop or the Local Temp Directory. The directory has been renamed “Scratch.”

To do this :

SAVE AS…Desktop….or….Local Temp Directory… SCRATCH…thenameofyourdocument.pdf
(or save on a diskette)

Minimize your WebCT window and go to the desktop or local Temp Directory SCRATCH folder to find your document. Try opening up the PDF document this way and PRINT or save to your disk.

Don’t forget to use the Microlab facilities to print as well.
