UConn Students, Faculty & Staff: The Network Connect software that allows remote computers to utilize the university VPN does not work reliably on computers that have recently patched Java environments or up-to-date operating systems (Windows or Mac). Juniper has declined to provide a patch for this piece of software because it is associated with equipment that has an end of life date of less than one year. UITS has escalated replacement of the backend VPN infrastructure and identified workarounds that can be employed to provide remote connection capabilities in the interim.
Please use the Junos Pulse client, this software must be installed and configured as described at the following link: http://securityapps.uconn.edu/vpn_junos_pulse
As a separate alternative, users who have previously enabled Remote Desktop on their workstations may take advantage of the Remote Desktop Gateway. Instructions may be found at http://uits.uconn.edu/?page_id=3492
