UConn Stamford Classes Cancelled 8/29
Due to the possibility of hazardous travel conditions around the state following Hurricane Irene, classes are canceled on all campuses, including the Stamford Campus, for Monday, Aug. 29th. For UConn employees: at this point, all staff are required to report to work on Monday as scheduled. Any new or updated information related to the Stamford Campus’ status on Monday will be communicated via e-mail, voicemail and the UConn Stamford homepage. Library Renovations to Begin Monday 7/11/11
A new look for a new year is coming to the Jeremy Richard Library! Major renovations to the library’s first floor begin Monday, July 11th through mid-August. Renovations will touch all public areas of the library excluding the Library Services Desk. The first floor will be dramatically redesigned to accommodate a new Collaboration and Learning Commons that will include…
– Relocation of the computer lab to the first floor of the library including staff
– Additional power outlets
– New furniture and collaboration space
– An enclosed quiet study area on the first floor
– Wall enclosure for the Source for Active Learning (Writing Center/Tutoring)
The library will remain open during the renovations and directional signage will be posted for library users. The library’s elevator and bathroom will not be accessible during this renovation period. Library users will need to use the restrooms that are near the Fitness Center. We’ve moved several machines around to accommodate users during this project.
Remaining on the FIRST Floor will be:
– 4 computers
– Printer
– Photocopier
– BookScan Station
– Newspapers/Magazines
Relocated to the SECOND Floor:
– 5 computers
– lounge seating (purple/blue chairs)
JRL Library Closed on Saturday, July 9 &16, 2011

Wireless Update 2/10/11
Most people should be all set with UConn Wireless Secure; however, for those still experiencing problems perform the following change in your UConn Secure settings.
Go to the wireless web site and click on Get Connected and then the appropriate operating system (OS). Next, follow these instructions:
- On the Protected EAP Properties box, uncheck Validate server certificate.
- Click OK
- Disconnect from UConn Secure wireless and reconnect.
- Repeat the step above to ensure the Validate server certificate box is still unchecked.
The connection should now work.
If you still cannot connect, follow the above instructions plus perform the following.
- Check Connect to these servers:
- Keep bean.uits.uconn.edu
- Delete ender.uits.uconn.edu
- Click OK
The connection should now work.
If however you continue to experience difficulties please report the issue to security@uconn.edu and copy helpcenter@uconn.edu. Students can contact HuskyTech for assistance.

Wireless Update 2/9/11
UITS has been working to resolve the wireless issues of the past few days. It is believed the source of the disruption has been identified. UITS will continue to monitor the activity and post updates to the IT Status web site, http://itstatus.uconn.edu

UConn Stamford Campus closing at Noon Today, 1/26/11
Staff, Faculty and Students:
UCONN Stamford will close at 12:00 PM today. All classes (including evening classes) are cancelled.
All “Emergency Support Services” are required to report as scheduled.
The last shuttle bus will leave for the train station at 1:00 PM.
