Course Reserve Kiosk-Select Your Campus

The University Libraries has implemented a new Course Reserve Kiosk that is accessible anywhere, anytime for all campuses.  The Student course reserves can now be accessed from the Course Reserves link on the libraries home page–http://www.lib.uconn.eduLog in with your NetID and Password

Faculty can also submit their course reserve materials online from the same place. Select the Faculty link and complete the Reserve Request Online form. Once your items have been submitted and processed, your students will be able to view the books you have placed on Reserve (to pickup from the Ciruclation desk) and  view articles  online, available for reading from their HuskyCT site.

Shuttle Bus hours -Fall 2009

The Stamford campus shuttle bus is now operational. The Shuttle Bus hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. only. No service on Fridays.

Special Hours at the UConn Co-op Stamford 8/31, 9/1, 9/5

The UConn Co-op will be open late on Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, Sept 1st until 9:00PM

Used books are 25% less than new and will go first so stop by early.

We will also be open on Saturday September 5 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon

New Phone Number for Circulation Desk

The Jeremy Richard Library’s circulation desk has a new phone extension.  Please  now call 251-8500 to reach the staff at the circulation desk.  Call if you have questions about the library,  hours,  borrowing and renewing books, InterLibrary Loan and Course Reserves.  You may also leave a voicemail after library hours and we will return your call the next day.

The former number 251-9599 is no longer active.

Jurn.org

JURN searches 2,374 scholarly / intellectual ejournals in the arts & humanities. JURN indexes ejournals that are either free, or offer some substantial free content. You can use it just like Google. JURN is running on a Google Custom Search so it is speedy, and you can use all the usual Google search modifers, such as intitle:”your phrase” and filetype:pdf

H1N1 (Swine Flu) Resources

Many resources are available to keep abreast of the H1N1 virus. The JRL library is compiling these bookmarks/resources on their JRL Del.iciou.us account. Add the RSS feed to your reader.

On the CDC website, you can register for updates via email or subscribe to RSS feeds to stay abreast of emerging information.

Temporary Reduction of Library Electronic Services-May 16th

Temporary Redection of Library Electronic Services -Saturday, May 16, 2009, 5AM-11AM.
Because of scheduled system maintenance, many of the Libraries’ services and systems will not be available the morning of Saturday May 16, 2009, between 5:00AM and 11:00AM. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask you to plan accordingly.

The following services will be available during the maintenance period:

  • A temporary Library Website will be available during the outage at www.lib.uconn.edu, though it will only include links to other available resources on this list
  • HOMER.  Searching the collection will work.
    Recall, Request from another UConn Campus, InterLibrary Loan, Renew books/View account will not be available during the maintenance period, nor will links to ejournals, databases, and ebooks in HOMER.
  • Magic
  • A temporary Music & Dramatic Arts Library Website will be available. Links to e-resources will only work from on campus.
  • Class Guides. Links to e-resources will not work.

The following services will not be available during the maintenance period:

  • The full Library website and other library and library-hosted websites (such as doddcenter.uconn.edu, algae.lib.uconn.edu, help.lib.uconn.edu, rdl.lib.uconn.edu, etc.)
  • Any library service that requires NetID (e.g., InterLibrary Loan, library accounts, Virtual Catalog (BLC), HuskyCT, EZProxy, etc.).
  • Access to electronic resources (ejournals, databases, and ebooks)
  • Music Digital Audio Reserves
  • Electronic Reserves  in HuskyCT and the Reserve System
  • Connecticut History Online
  • Other services not listed here may also be unavailable. If you are unable to access something the morning of May 16, please try again after 11:00AM.
