A formal ceremony will be held in the near future, when the first inductees for the Hall of Fame will be honored at our campus. The Hall of Fame will be located in the area adjacent to the Admissions Office.
The campus community will be invited to the “ribbon cutting” ceremony in the days ahead.
Open SGA Meeting, October 19th
Come one, Come all! The Student Government will be having its monthly open meeting in the Schreiber Reading Room on October 19th @ 5:15. All are welcome to come to the meeting and see what we do to help your campus. Feel free to bring your ideas.

2-day Video Game Tournament
On Monday October 24th and Tuesday October 25th from 12:40 to 1:10, the Student Government Office will be sponsoring a Video Game Tournament.
The games will feature Halo and X Box and Smash Brothers on Game Cube sign ups will be outside the SGA Room starting NOW!
There will be a 2 dollar donation imposed to collect money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.
Hispanic Heritage Activities–October 13th
Come celebrate the many vibrant heritages of Hispanic culture with fun, food, and dancing! On October 13, the Student Government will be sponsoring the celebration of Hispanic Heritage.
There will be Hispanic dancing and food out in the concourse. Bring your appetite and dancing skills!
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Fitness Center and the Student Government will be cosponsoring Breast Cancer Awareness.
Monday, October 17th, Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th students will be out in the concourse and hallways selling pink breast cancer awareness paraphernalia. Wristbands will be $1 and pins will be .50 cents.
Show your support for finding a cure by purchasing a pin or bracelets, making a donation, and wearing pink. Let’s help find a cure for this devastating disease which affects so many.
Cash Printing at the Library –$0.15 cents
Printing costs are now $.15 cents if your’re paying cash for your print jobs. You will need to select FILE>>PRINT>>CASH_B&W from the print dialoque box drop down menu. All cash printouts are to be picked up at the Circulation desk.
You can also use your UConn Student ID (Husky One Card) for your print jobs, FILE>>PRINT>>CARD_B&W for just $.10 cents per page. All printouts using your Student ID card can be picked up at the Reference Desk Printing Station.
You can place money (Husky Bucks) on your ID card at the Stamford Co-op store, next door to the library.

Please note that our library’s public copy machine has been relocated from its initial spot near the first bank of student superHomer stations and is now located just passed the Thompson eClassroom, on the left hand side as you enter the library.
Save the Date: November 12th–The Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble
Join the UConn Stamford community and participate in a musical, cultural and educational experience on Saturday, November 12 in the GenRe Auditorium, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble will be performing a concert, along with the local O-Tatsu Taiko group. Taiko is Japanese drumming and is performed throughout the world. The Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and has recently begun its East-West Tour of mainland universities and colleges, with UConn Stamford included in their schedule.
The concert will be FREE, with first priority offered to UConn students, faculty and staff.

Sacker Lecture on Human Rights, October 6th
The next Sacker Lecture on human rights will be held this Thursday, October 6th, at 7:30 in the General Re Auditorium at the UConn Stamford Campus.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Michael Marrus, is the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor of Holocaust Studies at the University of Toronto and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Royal Historical Society.
He has been a Guggenheim Fellow; a visiting professor at UCLA and the University of Cape Town, and a visiting fellow of St. Antony’s College, Oxford and the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He authored The Holocaust in History, Vichy France and the Jews and co-authored The Unwanted: European Refugees in the Twentieth Century, The Nuremberg War Crimes Trial and Mr. Sam: A Biography of Samuel Bronfman.
Professor Marrus was a member of the International Catholic-Jewish Historical Commission, examining the role of the Vatican during the Holocaust.
This lecture is free and open to the community.
